Prusa MK3 Printing at .3 layer

Hello, great forum.

I would like to print with my MK3, at .30 Print Settings.
Within the pre-settings I could not find it, as they go only to .20

I do not want to change anything and then ruin the presets.

My needs are for an outdoor print that does not require fine or detailed as precise as .20

Are there any specific changes I need to do besides setting the layer at .30?

Thank you.

Re: Prusa MK3 Printing at .3 layer

Just change the layer to 0.3.

The reason they don't include a 0.3mm preset is that at 0.2mm the plastic is melting as fast as the printer can make it melt. So you don't actually print any faster on 0.3mm. But there are reasons other than speed why you might want to use thicker layers.

Also, don't be afraid to experiment with your print settings. The worst case scenario is that you waste a few cents worth of plastic. If you have the current version of Slice3r, the factory default profiles are hard-wired and can't be permanently changed. But you can create your own profiles if you have something you want to save.
