Printing with Flex - what parameter to change next?

Hi all,

I am running out of ideas how to make this work. I try to print a small plug (see the screenshot) with Fiberlogy Fiberflex 30D material, but outcome is horrible (see the photo, sorry if rotated).  I have tried to change following parameters, but the result is always more or less the same:

  • Filament setting --> Extrusion multiplier = different values between 1 and 1.2
  • Filament setting --> Extruder temperature = different values between 230 and 255 Celsius
  • Filament setting --> Max volumetric speed = 1.35 and 1.5
  • Print settings --> Fill density = 15% or 100%
  • Printer settings --> Retraction length = 0 or 2 mm

Do you have any good tips or ideas what I should try next?

Best regards,

Ville

Best Answer by Peter M:

if you print 1 small stl, it will get to hot.

Print 3 or 4 stl at same time, then the 1 can cool down, wen printing 2 and 3 and 4.

RE: Printing with Flex - what parameter to change next?

I have no experience with flex albeit some stuff on the shelf, but this looks to me melted. Too much heat from below, too hot filament and not enough cooling? I'd try a temp tower first and then an easier part to gain experience.

I try to give answers to the best of my ability, but I am not a 3D printing pro by any means, and anything you do you do at your own risk. BTW: I have no food for…
