Re: printing tiny Adalinda

I've been spraying with Windex and then wiping before printing PETG. And that does seem to leave a residue. Not enough of one? When I spray it I get a puddle of liquid on the bed, which seems like a lot to leave in place. (Maybe I need to adjust the nozzle?)

You think that cleaning with Windex will give better PLA adhesion than alcohol and acetone? I don't recall having adhesion problems with anything except the tiny Adalinda, which was why I was thinking of it as a model problem rather than a process problem. When I removed the last one I printed, which had been starting to pull up in the back, the front was still stuck down pretty well.

Chocki: Are you suggesting those gcode changes would be suitable even for the stanard 0.45mm nozzle?

Re: printing tiny Adalinda

Best clean - for me - is water/detergent wash; rinse; alcohol; acetone: in that order. Acetone is for when PEI still is not sticky enough for PLA. Some say wash and forego alcohol, and have good results. I suspect water quality has an affect: hard vs soft water; hard water gives a better rinse as the minerals bond with the residual detergents, turning into stuff that comes off when drying.

PETG sticks to PEI like superglue to fingers. Any semblance of a clean bed makes for very tough removal of PETG parts. When I first used Windex instead of gluestick, PETG was still sticking way too well. Those that had opinions recommended I not wipe the Windex off; rather, I should let it evaporate. Others suggested actually fouling the bed with fingerprints. I now do both when printing PETG. I'll heat the bed, rub my bare hand all over the warm sheet where the part will be, spritz with Windex, and let it dry. Then print. The "process" really helps with removing PETG parts.
