Printing over tulle fabric

Hello there!

Today I tried to print on fabric for the first time! I printed 2 layers, paused the print an then... messed it up 😅.

Does anyone know how can I attach tulle fabric to my mk3 PEI sheet?

Thank you in advance!

Re: Printing over tulle fabric

I just finished some Christmas ornaments using magnets to hold the material down. Used both organza and tulle.

How did you stoped the print in order to add the fabric? I'm having some trouble figuring out how to do this without a color change pause...
😕

I used Cura for the slicing on these. There is an Extension in Cura called Pause at Height that will insert the pause in the g-code at either a specific height or layer.

I'm not a big fan of Cura. I can take the same stl's in the same positions on the bed and slice them with Cura and Slic3r and for some reason the Cura slice will always be too close to the bed on the right third of the build plate. This causes a filament jam and a canceled print. I have to position everything to the left two-thirds of the build plate using Cura.

If you are using Simplify3d you can enter this code: {REPLACE "\n; layer 2, Z = " "; layer 2\nG28 W\nM300\nM25\nG92 E12\nG28 Y0 X0\n; layer 2 "} in the post commands area of the scripts changing all the layer heights from 2 to whatever layer you want and the printer will pause there.
