Printing hints: Any tips on printing a PLA Cookie cutter?

Good day to all!

For Christmas I want to do some pretty cookies and I was thinking to print some cookie cutters like this one:

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:558087

Problem is: I print using PLA and it looks like the cookie cutter is really fragile

There is any way (except recreating it with bigger walls) to make it a little more resistant or less flexible?

I tried to print the one in the link with a 0.4 nozzle (0.4 width and 0.3 layer height), I also have a 0.2mm noozle Prusa availabe but didn't tried with it yet

This cookie cutter is quite large, the top is 9 layers thick at 0.2 layer height, if printer using standard Prusa Slic3r Generic PLA settings, it will be 4 perimeters thick for the cutter part that's about 1.6 to 1.8mm, print a little hot to get good inter layer bonding, and you should be good to go...
Nost, whilst 0.3mm later height will build faster and give better inter layer bonding, it will also give a slightly rougher surface, so you may want to consider a lower layer height...

clean your cutters well before and after use, consider using a microbacterial cleaner to mitigate possible bacteria in the pores of the model. and before you co ballistic with health and safety. consider how many people happily use wooden rolling pins and wooden work surfaces... (these probably have more pores than an FDM model

here is a sample section of the cutter, printed with an end of roll....

squeezing it along the layer lines proves it is adequately strong, no delamination.

this was standard settings 0.2mm layer height, but 220C filament to get better inter layer bond

I try to make safe suggestions,You should understand the context and ensure you are happy that they are safe before attempting to apply my suggestions, what you do, is YOUR responsibility. Location Halifax UK
