Printing ASA melts extruder body

Hello everyone,

I have an annoying issue with my printers. I'm trying to print some parts in ASA, so I have to crank the temperature up to 260.
Turns out, that at such temperature, the holder for the PINDA starts to get melted,  so everything gets wrong because it incorrectly reads the Z height.

This happened both with the original part that came with the printer and with the replacement I printed in PETG.

Obviously I'm doing something wrong, but I can't understand what's going on.

For what it's worth, I'm using all the original profiles (both as speed and as filament)

Any clues?

Not sure what sort of ASA you´re using. I am printing Spectrum 275 ASA in an enclosure with a nozzle temp of 256 and a bed temp of 60 and I never had any problems in the last three years. Maybe you´re cooking the ASA on the heatbed, so there´s a lot of heat coming from underneath?

I've done quite a bit of ABS, and some ASA and PC Blend, which requires 275/115 and the only part that I've had to replace is the fan shroud, due to drooping.

Something just doesn't sound right here.

Wait, only 60 for ASA, are you sure?

 I'm using prusament ASA and in default presets the heatbed is set to 100 degrees...

Absolutely certain. A reason why I don´t use Prusament ASA is that it apparently needs to be cooked, which costs a ton of money over time.

My nozzle temp is a bit higher than recommended (just got to that value over three years and about 20kg of filament in various colours, and I probably could lower it, actually) but the bed temp is recommended by Spectrum 40-60 and works perfectly fine for me, with zero warping.

I must say I have seen a sagging PINDA holder myself. I reprinted it in PC Blend but I'm sure ASA would do fine, too.

Exactly! I do have a sagging PINDA, later I'll attach a picture.

Printing it in ASA would fix it, but I can't print ASA... Ah the classic catch-22!

I have a suspicion. I was doing several parts in ASA, so the first layer took a lot (I guess several minutes).

Most likely it stayed so much that it began to sag. It's not melted, but I can see it's not perpendicular anymore.

Since I'm going to create long prints with ASA, I really need to be sure I'm not damaging my printer. I'll give a to another filament
