Printer program not seeing all surfaces. Help please!
Hello all, long time listener first time caller. I am having a issue converting a solid model from Inventor 2019 to the slicer program. I get a fragmented model that looks like the image below when I go through the layers. (see fragmented image below) It should like other image (complete model).
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you!

you need to spend some time with the model in meshmixer, checking for manifold errors and thin walls. anything thats smaller than half a mm or so may get discarded by the slicer as being not printable.
this is very clearly not a model that was designed to be printed - far too much fine, unsupported detail and hollow areas.

try slicing for a 0.25mm nozzle?

Thank you both for the response. I have had some luck with turning on "detect thin walls". Yes I agree it's not the best model for the 3D printer but I've been asked to try.

but I've been asked to try.
do you have the cad files available, or just the stl? may be worth your time to remix it slightly and try and fill in some of those areas and a remove a few of the unprintable bits. those screws as feet are going to cause serious problems.

I ended up recreating the model from one solid .ipt came out well!
