Print stops and asks to change filament multiple times during printing.

Hi,

I have a problem when I print with Fillamentum Nonoilen filament. https://shop.fillamentum.com/collections/for-nature/products/nonoilen

The printer stops every few minutes and ask for a filament change. I change fillament and then it restarts for few minutes, ...

I have the issue only with this fillament. So I guess it is related with the fillament settings that I use in Prusaslicer.

Have some of you used this filament? Have you experienced the same issue and have you found workable settings?

Thank you in adevance for any help !!!

Regards

Gilles

The original Mk3 filament sensors were purely light triggered, later versions include a mechanical step.  So if you have an older model you may find that certain coloured filaments, especially translucent ones, are not sensed correctly.  The workaround is to disable the sensor for those colours.

I've never heard this being a filament specific issue. Usually it indicates a problem with the filament sensor. I guess I could dream up scenarios in which a filament has a shape or color that interferes with the sensor. Anywho, I'd take a look at the filament sensor to make sure it's situated properly and activates properly.

I have had this problem too.  Usually with TPU, but most recently with plain old PLA.  You can get around it by turning off the filament sensor.  you probably want to open up the extruder and make sure there's not junk in there.  I need to do the same but I've been too lazy to do it.

RE: Print stops and asks to change filament multiple times during printing.

I just opened my extruder up and didn't find anything in there.  I did notice another screw I hadn't noticed before(I bought my printer assembled from prusa) that seems to tighten the lever that the bearing pushes on when you insert the filament.  I loosened mine a bit, it seemed tight,  but I've not had a chance to try another print with the sensor turned back on.  It's only a minor inconvenience to have to manually click load filament and I never let my spool get low enough to rely on the filament sensor detecting an out of filament condition.

I'm out of town for a few days but I might try a print with the FS turned back on just to see when I get back.
