Powder coated sheet print pattern

Hello.

I'm trying to print a case where the top face will have the rugged powder coated pattern from the powder coated PEI sheets. I've done my printer calibration and first layer calibration seems good. The pattern is strong in the corners, and the layer stripe pattern is almost invisible, but on some places on the middle of the part face, the powder coated pattern is less visible and the layers stripes are more visible.

I've tried googling but I can only find generic tips & tricks which I have followed. I've attached pictures of my results and of the last z layer calibration.

PS: Why is it so hard to embed pictures on this forum????

easiest way to embed is drag and drop the image into the message ( then on the image page select link to media to allow click thru to the full image)

are you doing 7x7 bedlevel at the start of the print?

and you may want to look at the Life Adjust Z  thread that has become the standard for adjusting your live Z settings

I too have seen that on larger prints, recently on printing the MMU V2 enclosure parts.  Frankly, I am not sure whether that is a function of the powder coated sheet production process or if it is a micro bed leveling issue.  There was a large thread before the forum switch where people were doing nyloc bed leveling and all kinds of stuff to get their beds very level. But be forewarned it is an involved process with lots of testing.

In addition to the suggestion above regarding the 7X7 Mesh leveling, you could try the bed level correction at the link below and do some testing to see if that helps correct it.  That way you do not have to mess with your live z directly and can do small corrections to test with.  Make sure to do test squares around the bed to test various places.

Also, there is a website linked below  that can visualize your bed by using pronterface send a command to obtain the mesh bed level values (that is it if you are not using Octoprint).  I have to look for the codes to send and receive the mesh bed level and I will post it once i find it if someone else does not post it first...

If you do find a solution/correction please post it to share.

No problem, I hope you can get it fixed, that looks like a nice print so it would be great to get it aesthetically pleasing!.

The command g81 ( for a MK3/MK3S)  when sent to the printer via pronterface will send back your mesh bed level data.
