PLA+ settings?

I’m a MK3newbie (used to use a DaVinci Printer). For my old printer I used eSun PLA+ quite a bit and had good success. I generally had to run the extruded at a higher temperature than standard PLA. I’m not sure which settings to use when I switch the filament. Should I just select PLA and then raise the temp? Anyone else using PLA+ ?

Re: PLA+ settings?

When I get a new filament, I run a few calibrations and one of them is to learn about how the filament behaves at different temperatures. I use this https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2615842 to learn which temp works best for a given filament. Many filaments print well at a big range so I use what I can subjectively consider the best. AFAIK, higher temps also help with better adhesion between layers (within the manufacturer range).

Re: PLA+ settings?

Hi, I recently purchased Black PLA+ from 3D Fillies and I just used the standard Prusa PLA setting. I printed all the parts required for the LACK table enclosure and they all came out perfect.

But now I am printing with a Translucent PLA+ 3D Fillies filament and I am having issues. As you can see from the images, at random locations a lump of filament will form. At this point I need to stop the print because the nozzle hits the lump and then the print becomes inconsistent. I cleaned the nozzle, I calibrated the bed and the z axis. I am getting very good first level adhesion. I flipped the steel print sheet onto the other unused side (I printer for 200hr on the other side already) just to make sure its not adhesion related. The lips seem to form at higher layers.

Dose anyone have any ideas why this could be happening?
