PLA Curling on Extrusion

I am encountering my PLA curling into the nozzle on extrusion. This is a first for me having run my printer pretty consistently the last few weeks since I received it. What is happening is that my first layer is not sticking, I am trying to print the legs of this https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2064359/comments I printed the body yesterday, 21 hours, came out flawless, and I go for it today and what I am seeing as the nozzle goes for the first layer is that it accumulates some filament on the back end, which hooks the new filament and its all down hill from there. Starting out this evening I got great first layers but I was getting some excess filament that would cause a failure down the road, so I would start over and it would get worse each time. I double checked my bed level correction, it had not changed, but now it seems I cant get a print out to save my life.

For the past three or four weeks I have used a steel nozzle and had no issues, I did five or six pulls on it with esun cleaning filament, I tried three different PLA spools, I switched back to my brass nozzle and did four pulls on that and I get the same issues.... Any suggestions? 🙁

The PLA I am using is all Hatchbox, Black, Silk Bronze and Silk Silver. It is the strangest thing that the whole pangolin body prints comes out looking great, all the joints are perfect, then the stupid legs are impossible.

Sorry, this is frustrating, I appreciate any help.

EDIT: I forgot, I did add a Silicone sock to the end, I took it off when I started experiencing the issues, and I have not put it back on.

I have been attempting prints at 210 and 205. I tried changing the bed to 55 and 50 as well.

Curle could be to close to the bed?
Do first layer test!
Search for a stl for a first layer test.
Set it a little higher, maybe to high and then go lower after that, to be sure that you are not to low.
Do maintenance on the rods and printer, if not lubed the calibration wil not work good or be different every time,
use the special oil for rods, and clean the rods before applying the oil.
If you print a lot, do every 2 weeks or every month the cleaning.

To stick better to the bed,
first layer hotter and slower is better.

For temps, see filament roll, sometimes hotter is better.

Cleaning is very important,
Use every print a clean paper with 90% alcohol.
Once in a while clean with acetone, acetone will eat up your pei bed, so do not use it often.
if you use glue stick, clean with window cleaner, and then with alcohol.
Do not use sanding paper or other things to roughen the pei, it will destroy it.

Pei sheet, only remove prints wen it's cold, otherwise you will destroy the pei.

Print slower.
Print hotter.

And pictures would help.

Thanks for the response. The first layer calibration I do is more or less fine on the horizontal areas, but fails to adhere on the first vertical turn (right hand side of the sheet). The rest of the calibration is more or less fine after that.

I wipe the bed down with iso after each print, acetone every week or so. I have tried to print slower and hotter but it leads to stringing and quicker failure.

I use Superlube oil on the rods, and grease on the screws, I just did this last Thursday. I did increase the tension on the Z axis as it was a bit loose.

I haven't ever used anything but the sheet for adhesion.

Ok quick update, so I:

* Washed my bed with dish soap
*Heated up the steel nizzle with a head gun and scrubbed it with a brass brush, and pulled as much PLA out as possible.
*I swapped the Steel Nozzle back
*Ran a PID Calibration
*Ran First Layer Calibration

I am attempting the print again as I did not see the same behavior as last night. Fingers crossed, but if it fails I will update with pictures.

Ok, well that all seemed to work print completed, (it failed twice more, so I slowed it down to 50%) I believe it may be a combo of the bed not adhering, and the filament not adhering (I lost the first layer peeing it off, but this is not the first time with this particular filament.

I want to apologize for my frustration in my first post.
