Piece "collapses" during print
Hello,
I just finished the assembly of my first 3D printer and tried to print a first mechanical piece. I am encountering two problems :
- The corners of the piece have "collapsed". This has happened on the four corners, but one of the corners is worst than the three others (the one on which I zoomed in the second picture). Note that the upper and lower edges are supposed to be parallel. I copy-pasted a screenshot of the 3D model with same perspective to give an idea of the expected piece.
- The surface of the piece is composed of a first layer of filaments that is detached from the rest of the piece.
Some information on how I printed the piece :
- The upper part in the picture is the lower part that was printed (I printed the piece top-down).
- I used the PLA filament provided with the printer
- I used default PrusaSlicer options, except for the mode (I chose 0.15 quality mode), and for the support (I selected support on plate only).
Any idea on how I could correct those two problems ?

It looks straightforward, except for the rather thin flat surface that will require a support.
If you will post the .stl file (you can attach it here by including it in a .zip file) I'll be happy to try printing it with scrap filament and see what I get. It appears to me that it should print fine, although with an 'ugly' surface right above the support.

The curve in the sides is due to the print warping while cooling. There are several factors you can adjust to help there, though the easiest would be to add a brim to the print. This will significantly increase the surface area on the print bed and make it much less likely to detach and warp.
As to the second problem, welcome to large, unsupported bridged areas. There will always be some amount of droop and yes, many times the first layer is somewhat separated from the rest. You are almost certainly going to have to use supports and you will still not get a perfect surface. Given the model you have, you will want to orient the print such that the face you want the highest quality on is facing up. Turn on supports and try again.

Thanks for your advices.
Here is the STL file used: essai_2020_07_20_8h00.
I tought that by selecting the option "support on plate", PrusaSlicer would add itself all needed stuff 😀 .
I will give a second try adding a brim an support and I will tell you if it solved the issue.
