Perfect until a certain layer height. Then THICK strings

Thick strings - PETG, .2 layer height .4 nozzle

Best Answer by --:

The print result will depend on how thick the layers are when you slice. 0.20 looks marginal; 0.15 layers look okay - sort of.  Are you using Detect Bridging Perimeters when you slice?

Printing these spots too fast will cause layer adhesion issues ... the new layer won't stick to the prior layer ... the strand pulls free and you get the rubber band effect in the images.

Is there a circular overhang at that level in the model? It looks like an interior ridge is at that level. There is such a feature in the larger portion as well. If interior ridges are not designed with a printable, bottom chamfer, the printer will be printing in mid-air and leaving such strings as it tries to lay down a circular ridge in mid-air.

Upload your 3MF or model file and we can inspect for the issue.

This is the water reservoir from the self watering planter. I think you might be right. The larger ID had an overhang and thick stringing as well. I just cut them off before posting. Hope this helps

Agreed regarding printing this sliced at 0.15 mm. The thinner slice will let printer have better chance of doing the overhang successfully.
