Pausing print - help.

Hi. In the midst of a 14 hr. print, the filament spool seized up because of overlapping wraps, causing a crash. I have to keep unspooling filament by hand to avoid another crash.

Can I paise the print, withdraw the filament, replace it and continue the print?

Thanks.

Yes.  You can choose change filament from the lcd menu.  That will allow you to eject the filament and feed in different filament.

With modern spooling machines its pretty rare for name brands to come with crossed over layers, you have to be extremely careful to NEVER let go of the filament when working with a spool though.

Thanks, worked great! I should have known there was a way to change filaments.

Yes, I'm an old fisherman so I'm particularly careful with these springy spools. 🙂

RE: Pausing print - help.

Hello,

Pausing a print to address a filament issue is a practical approach. Most 3D printers offer a pause/resume function that allows you to temporarily halt the print, withdraw the filament, replace it, and then resume printing from where you left off. However, it's essential to ensure that the printer is properly calibrated and the bed is not disturbed during the pause, as these factors can impact print quality. Remember to monitor the process closely after resuming to ensure everything is functioning as intended.
