Part of the print disappeared during slicing

Slicer 2.3.3 on Mk3s+ I made this file and printed it and was curious as to why the middle pieces were missing after slicing.  They show on the initial load and I did not notice that they were gone until I printed it.

I later tried changing the print settings from .30 Draft to .20 Quality and that did not help.  I tried making the 3 middle parts .6mm and then they showed up in the slice.

My question is why no warning that parts were dropped and/or were unslicable?

In this case you can simply turn on detect thin walls and they will appear in the sliced view. the walls disappeared because they are thinner then your default extrusion widths will allow for, you can also try adjusting the extrusion widths and get a similar result. while detect thin walls is doing what it should in this instance it is not always the answer, so it's worth learning other methods.

Detect thin walls is located under,   Print Settings/Layers and perimeters/ Quality : Detect thin walls (tick the box)

Good Luck, have fun

Nothing attached, so nothing to go on. My best guess is that there are parts of the model smaller than the extrusion width of your nozzle, or other issues with the model. Unless you post it here, it's hard to provide help.

RE: file attached I hope.

I did attach the file to the post and it said it was there so I don't know what happened.  Will try again.  I was not smaller .6mm for .4 nozzle but no message or warning.

Is there something more I must do after selecting the file using the browse button?  I see that the file is selected.  I click SAVE but the file is not in the post.

You might need to zip the file.

To upload, from PrusaSlicer Save Project as 3mf file. Now zip it, or the forum software will not upload it.

sorry for the confusion

If it is required to upload only ZIP files, why does Browse accept .3mf files? It seems to me that the "Attach file:" should say "Attach ZIP file:"

Anyway, I know that now.  It would just be helpful for other newbies.

Thank you for your help and here is the ZIP file.

RE: Part of the print disappeared during slicing

Why? Only Joe a Prusa knows....

We have all been advocating for the ability to upload 3mf files directly for a long time ...

And why no warning when parts omitted?

Again Only Joe knows?  where is the suggestion box? bug report box?  Omission without warning is a bug IMHO.

Try this

Here is a .3mf file that I adjusted to suggest an improved orientation for printing, "Detect thin walls" is turned on, I also turned off elephants foot compensation.

Bird feeder perch_Swiss.Zip

Let us know how things go

here is final value

I was using that file to get oriented in OpenSCAD and trying some things to make my spokes for this feeder perch.  It clips on the bottom of the feeder.  I cut the hook free with a small saw.  That seemed easier/better than trying to have it hang free.  You can see why I could not change the orientation of the part.

Thank you for the tip about elephant's foot.  I wondered why some of my smaller prints of foot pads were a little wider than expected.

That is on GitHub.

But not for website features 😢

Would be great to have, or--as I suggested a while back--have a section here under software dedicated to the website.

You always lose detail when you digitize something. The generated gcode never reflects the original STL perfectly. Such a warning would have to be issued with every slice.
