Overlap % VS Layer Height

Just been testing prints on a 0.4 nozzle with layer height of 0.32, keeping in mind that all calibrations has been done correctly, extrusion multiplier and live z all are set correctly, I noticed as you go up on the layer heights the overlap has to increase significantly.

Has anyone worked on the direct relationship of this possibly maybe a factor that is in proportion to the layer height increase.

At 0.2 layer height the overlap is anything between 20% to 25%.
At 0.32 layer height the overlap is anything between 60% to 65%

These are my findings so far, keep in mind the live z has been adjusted to compensate the increase in layer height.

I've not had to change the overlap with different layer heights.   

Live Z should also not need adjusting for different layer heights as the first layer value is a separate setting in Prusa Slicer.  If you just keep it at 0.2mm for everything then you have to do zero changes.  It only needs changing for different sheets and sometimes a slight adjustment for different filament materials.

I am not sure as to why, but in all honesty I used to do one calibration for live Z using the same nozzle 0.4 on a 0.2 layer height, when I change the layer height the first layer on the new layer height is way off. These are using stock prusa slicer settings.

I am going to restest this one more time, but I am very sure I had issues previously. At that time I was wondering, this will be very tedious if I had to do this for every layer height I plan to work with, normally the software should atleast take the base calibration and do the maths for the rest of the layer height changes.

Will recalibrate on 0.2 layer height and do the extrusion multiplier check and restest for a 0.32 layer height see what happens.

Did some more testing on the subject and now noticing there are some issues with the initial first layer, rolled back the firmware from 3.9.0 to 3.8.1 and things look more consistent, still further testing...

Okay yes, now I know where am getting things not right, misread and overlooked that part, slicer treats the first layer height as the same value from 0.2 and 0.3 layer height being the first layer height set to 0.2 and width 0.42 if I change the layer height to 0.3 then the first layer height stays the same but the remaining layer heights change.

What I was doing was changing the first layer height to be identical to the rest of the layer heights, thats why I needed to adjust the live Z.

File is 35x35 by 0.3 square thickness left is printed with default prusa settings which treats the first layer as 0.2 layer height and 0.42 width and the right one printed with my adjustment being first layer height 0.3 by 0.5 width both at the same live Z very clear that the one on the right needs to raise live z value.

So in effect I needed to adjust by live Z value to account for the first layer height difference and redo the calibration for the extrusion multiplier for this all to work.

Am doing this for stack printing so as to maintain constant layer heights with constant air gaps in between.

 
Would be something interesting to see if a slicer can do these adjustments in relation to the live Z compensation required.

Further testing this is the results, the Live Z adjusted as per the new layer height and layer width, overlap increased by 10% for 0.3 layer height/  0.5 width, will test more on other layer heights to see if there is any correlation between layer height increase and overlap increase.
