Oozing at one end causes a blob and pulls my print from plate
I was printing some tube on my i3 MK3. I enabled brim to get some decent adhesion and reduced the speed for the first layer to 20mm/sec.
It printed fine for a while and one hour into the print I saw that the print came loose and the printer was making a hard blob on its extruder.
It appears that for some reason the extruder created a blob at the location on the right:
which then pulled the print away producing some nice lava blob
What is the typical way to debug this? This is the original prusa grey PLA sliced with slic3r PE with 0.2 layer height, 20mm/sec first layer, brim enabled

Are you sure that your PEI was clean enough? With what do you clean it?
99% IPA is advised and sometimes some acetone can help to rejuvenate it.
Is your first layer perfect?
Finaly, are you sure this is the best orientation for your model? Is it possible to have a look to it?

I used 70% IPA wipes, the same that came with my printer. I've yet to get some acetone but it is quite unusual to require it at this location because typically only fingers have touched the area and I wiped several times and very thoroughly.
I would say that my model was not good enough because even with supports it did not create a very flat surface resulting in a poor first layer I assume.

About once a week, or when prints stop sticking, use ACETONE to clean the bed. It removes grease better than IPA or Windex. It also rejuvenates the print surface. However, if you use acetone every day, PEI will become brittle and start cracking.
Acetone's cheap--a couple bucks at your local pharmacy or discount store. Just make sure it's 100% (Some nail polish removers have other additives).
I'm not saying that's the problem--just passing along the info. There's much more there; it may be worth a perusal. 😉
