Odd first layer issue
Weird issue: So I busted out my MK3S after a few month hiatus after printing face shields. So I redid the calibration wizard, re-greased the bearings and everything seemed fine. The 1st layer calibration worked well. So I print one of those pocket doc cams for zoom calls and it turns out pretty nicely on PETG. The second print, I'm getting these gaps in the first later. So I redo the 1st layer calibration and things are fine and again, I'm getting these gaps. Firmware is up to date, everything is calibrated (I think). Any thoughts? In addition to the gaps, sometimes (it's not consistent) the first layer gets another weird gap between the outline and the edge of the layer lines (shown in the second picture). Thoughts on what's going on? I don't think it's the Z height because the first part of the 1st layer looks great, then it slowly prints gaps...

@dkim
An irregular extrusion. Have you ever tried to clean hotend and nozzle? Possibly the filament transport is irregular or the spring tension of the drive gears is too loose.

I actually performed a cold pull after I finished printing the face shields. Not 100% sure about the spring tension of the drive gears. I'll try and tighten it up to see if it makes a difference. Thanks for your reply!
