Nozzle Dragging Across Infill
Hey everyone,
Currently on RC2 right now, but i've not had a firmware where this didn't happen.
I'm printing a faceplate for a wall switch and i'm having / have always had trouble with the nozzle dragging and bouncing over the infill as it prints. It's to the point where I can see and hear it as it bounces across the infill lines. I'm using Slicer 1.39.2 stock profile .15 moderate quality.
It also drags across the infill as it does the top layers, causing some weird looking top layers before it does the final top layer.
My Z offset is -.425 and my first layers are perfect.
Any ideas?

possible you're slightly overextruding. whats your z hop set to?
double check in your gcode preview to make sure it is lifting and retracting where it should be.

Hey, I figured I'd respond to this thread rather than starting a new one.
I'm getting the same issues with the nozzle dragging across. Normally it wouldn't bother me too much, but I think it just contributed to a shifted layer after 20 hours of printing. I am using PrusaControl (so I can't modify z-hop and extrusion settings) on an MK3 with the provided Prusa filament. I chose PrusaControl because I was having trouble with supports adhering from Slic3r (and I figured that the error should be relatively low since I'm using the Prusa filament as well).
I should also note that I did print the same model using two different filaments (Hatchbox and AMZ3D since I ran out of Hatchbox mid-print), and it actually printed successfully.
I'm hoping to get a solution before I attempt this print again.
One thing I did think about: could the adhesion layer (i.e. too much glue) contribute to this? I basically just added extra glue after the last print without cleaning the sheet. I assumed it doesn't matter because it's such a thin layer and presumably the first layer would get squished enough that it doesn't matter after that.
