In addition to the hardware steps, you need to set up a slicer profile. I started with the Prusa 0.6mm profile, then saved it off as a custom 0.8mm printer profile by giving it a new name. Be sure to change the nozzle size, minimum and maximum layer heights in the new profile. I go with min height of 25% of nozzle size and maximum height of 80% of nozzle size. These 2 settings are only used for variable layer height calculations. 

Under print settings, change your layer height and extrusion width. If you set an extrusion width of 0, it will be calculated based on the nozzle size at slice time.

You may find that you can print at a faster volumetric rate with a larger nozzle. Adjust Max volumetric speed under filament settings. Back off if you get extruder clicks.
