"No SD Card"?

I just got my Prusa yesterday, printed a benchy and another small print using this SD Card that came with the printer. As of two minutes ago, the printer has stopped recognizing SD cards. It detects when a card is inserted r removed, but attempting to print from the SD Card says "No SD Card". I've tried with different SD Cards, different gcode files, nothing works.

Is my printer broken? After ONE DAY?

EDIT: I think I figured it out. If you have an SD Card with multiple gcode files on it, and the Prusa doesn't like even *one* of those files (for whatever reason), it will just go into denial that the SD Card exists *at all*.

...I don't know if it's appropriate to request features here but wouldn't it make more sense to crap out at the point when I try to print the offending file, with some relevant error message, rather than pretend the entire SD card doesn't exist?

Try fully inserting it, then, if you get the "No card" message, backing it out about 1mm. Sometimes just pushing it in does the trick.

Some people (including me) have found that the SD card reader is build a little out of spec so that if you push in the card firmly, it actually doesn't make good contact. Try backing it out a little, and/or pushing it in with less force.

RE: "No SD Card"?

I am trying to print respirators for to help protect our local doctors against covid-19 as they are out of them. While trying to put in the SD card in my MK3 it's not reading the card. I've tried pushing it in and backing it out. I've also installed the latest updates. I saw another post that said the boards were faulty... Please help so we can get these respirators donated. Thank you!

My 1st board had the same issue. I was able to get by fully inserting it, then backing it out a bit, but it finally gave up completely. If you can get Octoprint running on a Raspberry Pi, you can print without the SD card. Otherwise, the best long-term fix is to replace the board. If you open the front panel up you might try adjusting the SD cover or re-soldering connections. Good luck with it.

RE: "No SD Card"?

Dumb question but can't you also print directly via Pronterface with the USB cable?
