Need help setting up temperature tower

I got my prusa a few weeks ago. I want to get the most out of my filaments and know how they react to different temperatures. So i am trying to figure out how to set one up in prusa slicer. Is this the correct text to type under customs g-codes (i know layer height needs to be changed for tower i am using) 

{if layer_z == 7.8}M104 S215{endif};

{if layer_z == 14.6}M104 S210{endif};

.....

Or do i have to do anything else to get it to change temps? Also should i raise temps or go down, which is best?

Your if statements look conceptually good, but I don't remember if they are syntactically good off the top of my head. I provided a link to the temperature tower that I use that has a description on creating the custom g-code. (Additionally, the tower thing repository includes individual blocks with different temperature values so one can build their own.) Something to watch out for, is make sure your layer height values match actual printed values. The values you use appear to be good for 0.2mm printing, unless your first layer is 0.25mm... 😉

As far as temperature gradient hot to cold being either up or down, I have one tower demonstrating why hot at the bottom progressing to cold at the top is better. I usually extend the printed temperature range of my towers a little above and below the MFG suggested temperatures, and one filament really didn't want to print colder than the MFG suggested range. So it was only the top part of the tower that failed. Had I started cold at the bottom then I would have had to re-calculate my tower and re-print just to get a print in the suggested range. But as always, YMMV.

Also, watching the print and my nozzle temperatures, I found that my nozzle temperature change stabilized during the print of the first layer of the new temperatures. I haven't needed to pause between temperature changes to wait for the temperature change to happen. In fact, I have a working theory that indicates that extruding filament while cooling the nozzle should cool it faster than just letting it sit idle. My theory (probably closer to hypothesis) is that by feeding in "cool" filament to melt and expending already melted filament will add to the heat transport out of the nozzle/heater block system in addition to the normal convective and radiative cooling that always happens. I haven't tested this, but it does seem to make sense.

The values are just taken out of thin air as an example. 

I liked you temp tower more then the others I have seen. 

I do think lowering the temp goes faster then actually raising it. Takes more time to heat new filament up then cooling the filament by adding more “cold” filament.

I am thinking about trying this temperature tower, but how do you set up the block? when i import them into slicer, i can't seem to stack them. All the block are always stuck to plate. Am I missing somethign here?
