Mystic Green first layer adhesion issues

Hello!

I recently tried printing with a brand new roll of Mystic Green.  I've been having major issues trying to get the first layer to stick reliably.

I've tried using brim, adjusting my live z, using glue stick, washing my PEI sheet, all to no avail.  My bed temperature is 60, my nozzle temperature is 215, nozzle fan is off, and I'm using the smooth PEI sheet.

Has anybody had success with this filament?  What settings are you using?

Thanks!

I was able to get it to stick by doing the following:

Wash the print bed with soap and water.

Scuff the print bed with a scotch brite pad.

Clean the print bed with acetone.

Set retract distance to 1mm.

Set retract speed to 45mm/s

Set print bed temperature to 65C.

Set first layer nozzle temperature to 230C.

RE: Mystic Green first layer adhesion issues

I just printed a rather large print with the same filament without any issues.  A good scrub with dawn and hot water is all it should really take.   Since this print was a long one I wanted to make sure I had adhesion so I threw some layerneer on also.  I was even printing with bvoh as soluble support on the mmu.  pretty much the default filament settings.  Is that the only filament you're having issues with?  maybe throw it in the dryer?

Yes, this is the only filament I'm having issues with.  I just printed 1KG of black Hatchbox PLA with no issues.  I went back to grey after the mystic green and all my problems disappeared.

I think maybe try drying then.   It's always possible to have gotten a bad batch.

I'm glad you got it to print, but you may have shaved life off your sheet cleaning with acetone.   The scotch brite pad was a standard non-metallic scrubber I hope.

Thank you for posting the settings. I was having the same problem and this configuration also worked for me. I probably will pass on this filament in the future since it was such a pain. But I'll use up this spool.
