My Mk3s+ just started stringing and won’t stop

Hi everybody, please forgive me if this is the wrong place to post this.  I have a Mk3s+ that I’ve had for a few months and all of a sudden it’s stringing.  I have dried filament, and replaced entire hot.  The part I’m having trouble with is it worked perfectly before, printer is in an enclosure where it’s at about 24c while printing with the doors open.  While changing hot end I cleaned gears, tightened grub screws on extruder gear and still the same result.  Temp tower showed best print at around 180-190 with PLA, why would it change?  Has always worked great with Prusaslicer settings!  I use filament pm and Prusa filament most of the time.  Any ideas would be great!  Again, what I don’t understand is why it would work fine then not…

thank you!!!!

What sort of stringing?  Pictures would help...

Have you been printing abrasive filaments?

No abrasive filaments and stock new hotend from Prusa with new nozzle

That looks like extremely wet filament and yet you dried it ... we do see a lot of humidity problems at this time of year ... how are you drying it?

Thanks, It happens with all filament, I have a sunlu filament dryer, that vents humidity (printed part) and the filament is maybe a couple weeks old

OK.  Try a loooong drying session, if that doesn't work save a .3mf of your test print ( Files > Save Project as )

Zip the .3mf and post it here. It will contain both your part and your settings for us to diagnose.

Stringing test.3mf

here is the mf file, stringing got a tiny bit better but still horrible.  I dried for 24 hrs at 50C. Filament lost 4 grams.  Any ideas? and thank you!!

So you got a small improvement and a measurable weight change...

It's a while since I printed at 0.1mm so I used your settings with a known damp filament - it's been left out for a week - and got results similar to your last example.  I retried with recently dried filament and got a much better result.

I wonder if your dryer is working as it should..?  Try oven drying as a comparison, you need an accurate electric oven; there are plenty of threads here.

I dried again for 24 more hours and still a bit of stringing, I opened a brand new roll of filament pm filament and it was stringy too.  Any other ideas?  Thank you!!

The other likely culprits are overtemperature - but your settings worked OK here; and a damaged nozzle but yours is new ...

You *might* have thermistor going out of spec in an unusual manner - or you *might* have installed a badly manufactured nozzle.

Otherwise I'm stumped.

Hi, I’m having a similar issue where my prints started to show stringing all of a sudden. I have tried everything suggested in this thread, except changing hotend where I just switch the nozzle to a new one, and the problem remains. Did you solve your problem? Thanks in advance!
