Miniature printing with .2 nozzle

Hi,

so as the title says, I recently swapped to a smaller nozzle to try to get more detail on prints. I am having an issue of strings of filament not properly attaching to the higher layers and causes the bottom of items that the overhang should be sufficient without supports to have strings of PLA attached to the higher layers.

I noticed this when I was using supports, and without, when I was using supports, I thought this was just leftover supports I was having issues removing, but I am not sure. I tried printing support less items and am seeing the issues.

I am using Cura for slicing, and have tried changing the speed (down to 45mm/s in testing) temperature (210) shell walls are set to 4 for wall line count (.8mm total) turned on retraction at layer change and can not seem to resolve the issue.

I circled in red the issue I'm talking about. Also having an issue with stringing while travelling, but haven't overly been working on that issue yet as the other is causing more issues. The oldest is on the left, newest on the right. The left and middle one were cleaned up somewhat manually is why it's less prevelant, where the one from the right is right off the build plate (raft)

Thanks

Without having the model, it looks like there are unsupported bits of the jacket that are the problem: supports are needed since the printer is trying to print the jacket flaps that are lower than the rest of the piece.  If not exactly that, then there are unsupported perimeters that are dangling. You might try turning on Detect Unsupported Perimeters and adjust bridge print speeds.

For model it's a Prusa i3 MK3 with a .2 mm nozzle, using standard PLA filament.

I've changed settings to turn down speed on bridging and trying with supports it did have a lot less of the issue, going to change infill percentage a little bit and test overhang angle that it can handle to customize further.

By MODEL I mean the stl or obj or 3mf you are using; sharing it allows people to slice the object to best understand what you are dealing with.

ZIP the file (.zip format) and drag into the text box to upload.

Or if the model is a free file on one of the common 3D repositories (Thingiverse, MyMiniFactory, Cults-3D, etc) post the link to preserve attribution.

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3750881 is the soldier. I am wondering if the overhangs are not able to be as much with the nozzle change.

I am currently in the middle of a test print with https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2806295

I've having some issues with layers shifting and circles not being entirely circles (broken circles,or malformed) from reading the things on the test object page, it sounds like it might be belt tensioner issue, ie my X axis belt isn't tight enough. Does this sound plausible? I'll have it my test print done in about an hour and I'll post the results after it is finished.

Thanks

Anywhere you see deep blue you'll have issues. Anywhere you see deep blue inside a ring of another color, you'll have a fail.

Different problem than this thread - suggest you start a new thread in Assembly issues.  But offhand, most likely you didn't install the belt drive pulley right and it is loose or spinning; could also be loose belt hopping over the gear. But again - best to start a new topic in the correct forum.
