Keep having to remove reinsert the filament

Doing a large print job and all of the sudden I get the beeping. Remove filament. Insert filament. 5 minutes later, beeping, repeat the process. I finally turned off the filament sensor and it's printing as expected. I'm not concerned with running out of filament on the full spool.

What is causing this problem?

I love my i3 MK3 but it sure seems less reliable than my other printer, a FlashForge Creator Pro. All these gee whiz things but they are causing problems such as in my other threads. My FlashAir SD card often has to be removed/reinserted. I had print fan issues when the wire internally broke. I absolutely love this printer but I can't seem to step away from it and trust a print can complete without some interaction.

By the way, prusament is amazing! What a difference! I wish it was easier to get and hear it may be such as on Amazon but it's awesome stuff!

Filament sensor is either not liking your filament or its dirty. I just leave mine switched off

Re: Keep having to remove reinsert the filament

alternatively, insert a proxy bearing between the filament and the sensor, using this update

In settings menu on the printer switch off the sensor as a temp fix. mine is just turned off all the time now.

I also used this "fix" .. but this is more of a work-around and not a real solution.

a squirt from a can of dust-off caned presser blower seems to take care of this for several days give the bond tech an air blast from both sides as well

Yes, that did work when I did this about two weeks ago, good suggestion. As I purchased my unit assembled a lot of this is learning and good learning on reverse engineering/assembling it. So I learned of the parts involved in my investigation and it was quite dirty for whatever reason and a good blow out did the trick.
