Inland PLA+ vs. Inland PLA PRO

im due to get more filaments and my go to Inland PLA+ filament seems to be like getting phased out as i see less and less on display and more of the PLA PRO variants.

anybody knows what the differences are? setting wise? i just happen not to see the color i need on a PLA+ but is abundant in PLA PRO.

thanks in advance.

RE: Inland PLA+ vs. Inland PLA PRO

PLA Pro is supposed to be tougher and harder to break.  I have not found this to be significantly different.  Supposedly, it is a pla and polycarbonate mixture from some manufacturers.

Microcenter

i think i misspoke on the pricing. looks like its not bad at all at $18.99 vs. $17.99 for PLA+.  i just remembered i like PLA+ over PLA because it had a shine to it.

@bapski

I was mistaken.

PLA+ is that PLA material but mixed with another plastic, fiber, or another additive.  Most PLA+ materials are to increase the strength of the standard PLA, and while many companies keep that formula confidential, it’s usually a PLA and polycarbonate fortification.

PLA PRO is a PLA that undergoes special tolerances to make sure the material is unilaterally 1.75 give or take .01 thought this is qualified manufacturer to manufacturer. It’s a high-quality material that will be more accurate flow throughout the printing process to give parts less wispy parts or under extrusions. Many manufacturers also boast stronger inter-layer bonding and other benefits.

I just contacted Microcenter this am to ask.  The store in Atlanta said there is no difference between there PLA+ and PLA PRO.

In fact, PLA PRO by Inland on Amazon has “PLA+“ in parenthesis.  They even sell the standard PLA for about $2 less.
