howto variable speed print

just got my prusa, and my 1st print says 25hrs on a default speed setting.. not detail, etc..

I saw in the program there was a detail quality by layer slider,

but i am curious if its possible to make the printer more variable.. like when doung outter edges layer use quality low speed fine detail, and then high speed for all infill as I dont think i need the low speed in those sections.

thx

RE: howto variable speed print

You can set different speeds for different features in your slicer. Look under the Print settings tab. It may not make much of a difference unless the parts being printed are large enough to allow the printer to come up to full speed. Small or intricate parts may not print much faster.
