How to import Cura STL or Gcode files ito Prusa Slicer

Used every trick in the book but have been unable to import a Cura STL or Gcode file into Prusa slicer. Any suggestion?

RE:

Stl files are agnostic, they are the source files used to slice from,   gcode is the output that is specific to the printer its sliced for.  You don't import gcode into a slicer its made FROM a slicer,  you can import it into a gcode viewer like Prusa Gcode viewer if its compatible but you cant really use gcode to go back to the original file so it can be sliced again.

You should have no trouble loading a stl file though.

Dear Neophyl

Thanks for the response but for clarity, I am trying to print old STL files which are sliced through Cura and are totally ok being printed on my Anet ET5 but when I import the same STL file into Prusa Slicer so that I can print it on my MK3 printer, although I am able to slice it, I am unable to save it due to an error message telling me that empty layers have been detected and advising me to repair the file. I do go through the repair file process within Prusa to no avail.

Could you zip up and attach one or more of the troublesome stl files.  (if they arent private of course).  We can take a look at them and see what the errors are.

Also if you could load one into PS and slice it so that it gives you the error and then save the project (File>save project as) from Prusa Slicer that will output a 3mf project file.  With that file we get a snapshot of the settings used so we can see if a setting change would help.

All files must be zipped up or the forum wont accept them.

I regularly use the same .stl files with both Cura and PS.

My experience, however, says that Cura is far more forgiving in handling wonky .stl files than is PS, and I have indeed seen cases where Cura will successfully render and slice some .stl files and PS will not.
