FWIW - Local hospitals have asked that we focus on the NIH-approved shield design, possibly for this very reason. I gave up on printing those add-ons for the Prusa RC3 frame.

You could try , detect thin walls.

I did but the hole is still there. I am now testing thicker wall thicknesses of the cover. I hope that will solve the problem. I am running a test with 1 and 0.8 mm thickness.

So it looks like your layer transition is right there.  The fact that it is leaving a gap makes me think that your retraction/coast settings are such that it's running out of material before the end of the layer.  The unretraction settings may, or may  not be incorrect as well.  Moving the layer start to a different place, or random, would likely "correct" the problem.  Though really it's more just hiding the problem.

Hi William, this is indeed the problem, but how can I change layer start? I have tried random, but it did not change the layer starts in prusaslicer.

That I don't know right off hand.  I haven't actually transitioned to prusaslicer yet.  🙂 🙂
