Glue, glue, glue! (for nylon or PC)
Hello all
I needed a part for my ebike (a clip to fix a normal sized pannier bag to my oversized 16mm rack - thanks Raleigh!) and decided to use some lovely Nylon filament - its called Fishy Filaments Porthcurno, and they recyle old Cornish fishermens nets into a lovely strong nylon filament. It is the most hydroscopic thing I've ever printed, but it gives lovely, buttery smooth surfaces after 12 hours at 70c in a convection oven.
I noticed, however, the cheap washable glue stick I was trying was terrible (came away during print and PEI ravaged when printing PC polymax) but I found the Kores glue that came with the printer and it made a big difference. I do not have a lot left and was wondering, as I have about 400g of this nylon and 200g of a different nylon left, and it prints so nicely. Can anybody recommend some brands of glue stick common on the European or UK markets I could substitute?

I ordered a bunch of the Kores glue sticks from Amazon a while back. They were cheap but it turned out that they shipped from India and took FOREVER to arrive.
I have never printed with nylon, but I have with the PC Blend, and found that Layerneer works very well as a release agent. It goes on with a much thinner coat than you can get with the glue stick. It's my go-to for ABS and PETg. As I said, I have yet to use nylon.
