First TPU prints... not 100% happy yet

Material: SainSmart TPU
Prusa i3 MK3s: firmware 3.6.0-2069
IKEA Lack enclosure
Slic3r RE: 1.41.3
.15mm QUALITY
SemiFlex or Flexfill 98A
20% fill density
Retraction disabled

I’m still very new at 3D printing, this being my first printer (for just a couple months now).
I attempted a couple TPU prints a couple weeks ago, all failed from “blowout” or filament binding in bond tech gears. My Prusa Silver PLA and 3d Solutech PETG all print beautifully!

This was my “test” print bc it was a smaller scale object. I’d love some input on what I could do to stop all the stringing and such, before doing my larger projects. I don’t know what other settings to adjust in Slic3r... or what else to do with the printer. Thanks!

Do what you love, love what you do.

Hi Pylot,
try turning off retraction and turning off lift Z,

print slow, and make sure your TPU is dry, - low humidity...

for future reference, only print one item at a time

I try to make safe suggestions,You should understand the context and ensure you are happy that they are safe before attempting to apply my suggestions, what you do, is YOUR responsibility. Location Halifax UK

Thank you, but in my first post I mentioned how I had disabled retraction. I’ve since tried printing at 75% speed and 50% speed, and I’m still getting a fair amount of stringing. ...I also baked my filament @70C for 40 min.

...not sure what you mean by one item at a time... this is a picture of one item from many angles. 😐

sorry, I didn 't describe that well...

i was trying to pre warn you, that multiple tpu prints tend to have stringing issues.

do you still have Z lift enabled?

regards Joan
