First layer ripple only right side
I have printed this part twice and both times I get a ripple only on the right side of the first layer. It's perfectly smooth on the left. Can anyone recommend why this is happening and how I might fix?
RE: First layer ripple only right side
I don't have an answer, but I actually have the same kind of issue, sometimes, so I'm following the thread.
RE: First layer ripple only right side
Ripples on the first layer are usually caused by the Live Z setting being slightly too low. As it moves along it pushes excess material along until it builds up into a ripple.
Looking at your pic it could be that the right side of your bed is fractionally higher too. Normally the mesh bed levelling takes care of that but it doesn't always. Make sure you are using 7x7 points to start with and then maybe try raising Z by a tiny amount. Not enough to get separation in the lines on the left side of the first layer but just a smidge up.
I usually get that effect when I forget to adjust Z slightly up when switching from PLA to PETG as that material can need a bit more space.

It looks like my printer is using the 3x3 calibration and I am not sure how to turn the 7x7 on, but I will research that today. Also I am not familiar with the term 'Live Z' setting. I have calibrated for the first layer height a couple of times. Is the 'Live Z' setting something different? I will research that as well. Thank you for the reply.
RE: First layer ripple only right side
7x7 improved, but did not correct the ripples. Next I will try raising the Z calibration a bit. Thanks

The best method of setting Live Z is to follow the instructions in this thread (if you arent already doing so) https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/original-prusa-i3-mk3s-mk3-assembly-and-first-prints-troubleshooting/life-adjust-z-my-way/

And, if all the Live-Z adjustments don't get you where you want to be, consider tweaking the bed offset adjustments. You can raise the bed corner/side using cal settings in software. Look in the menus for Mesh Bed Leveling and Bed Level Correction.
