Ever seen this before?

Hello All. I am having a heck of a time trying to figure this one out. This has been happening to me on circular prints as well as Benchy where the filament continues on beyond its print coordinates. The nozzle is fairly new and I have not changed any settings in slicer. I thought maybe retraction was the issue or old filament so Benchy was printed with a very fresh shrink-wrapped, just delivered roll. I am stumped. Is it possible that there is corruption in the software that creates the gcode for printing? Hoping for some input from the experts. Thank you!

First thing I would do in such case, is drying filament (doesn't matter if it's new from package). And if that wouldn't help, then I would check & clean the hotend.
Btw. check again if you have right settings for filament type you're using.. just saying 😉

I don't know why folks always jump to "corruption in the software". There's just no way in hell a software bug could cause anything like this. Underextrusion, possible partial clog are much more likely. Or--as Bogdan suggested--wrong filament type. I just spent an hour trying to make the bloody filament do its job until I realized I was trying to print a file sliced for PLA with PETG...
