Eliminating a lot of supports
I want to print a microscope adapter for my iPhone mini. It will essentially look like a protector case with a tube attached (to fit over the eyepiece). Since the 27mm ID tube will be 20mm long there would be a lot of wasted support material. I would like to print the tube, pause the print, then drop in a solid piece around it to support what will be the base or rest of the case. If I use aluminum it can be preheated to get better adherence. Hints & advice? Printing filament will be flexible.
