Design and 1st layer help with small portions touching bed

Hello all,

I am trying to design a part which requires no support, brims or rafts.  I am currently printing with Prusament PLA and using the smooth bed and 0.4mm nozzle.

I have successfully printed this part once before (I think I got lucky), but have since changed my nozzle and redone calibration and noticed today the small portions which you see in the picture (small quarter circles) are not sticking during the first layer.

There are two things happening which I can see while printing:

1. The filament is not sticking in all cases (sometimes it does).

2. because the filament is not sticking, it is creating a slight blob, then the hotend is slightly covered with filament when moving to the next position.

I don't have problems in general with 1st layer adhesion.  This is just a unique case because of the small size of these "quarter circles".

Any suggestions for making these small parts stick?  Either with the printer, settings, or 3d design.

Thanks in advance!

I've been troubleshooting this and decided just to go back to basics.   Here's what I did:

1. Cleaned the bed with soap and hot water.

2. Lowered the z-live adjust a couple clicks.

3. Also moved the part to a corner of the bed as it is used less.  Was thinking maybe the smooth is not as good as it used to be.  How long doe these last?  Mine was brand new in Jan 2022.

Seems to be working now.

Cheers.
