Crystal Clear filament problem
Hello,
I have never had extruder skipping so far. But now I got this phantastic Fillamentum Crystal Clear Iceland Blue and the Benchy doesn't come out properly. I already printed the benchy with normal transparent PLA from Fillamentum which turned great.
I reduced the spring tension and reduced retract length to 0.1 wich resulted in stringing and skipping. What else could I tweak for this PLA? It seems very brittle. The skipping is a result of the extruder grinding out a piece of filament. I guess I can turn off retractions completely but that would make a mess of stringing. Temperature is 220°C.
This filament is the only one I am having trouble with (except for adhesion on flex filament). Any tips on how to print it?

RE: Crystal Clear filament problem
I tested another print with a retraction of only 0.01 and a nozzle temoerature of 225. Now I still get a skipping. It seems the filament is not pushed further and bounced back put a bit with little click. Then proceeds in again until the next bounce comes.

RE: Crystal Clear filament problem
Try to print hotter. Try to print slower. And see if the filament will pass trough better.
Spring tension for hard filament should be as prusa manual, you could try a little less or more tension, but if filament is not melted it will skip.
Try to clean the extruder by making the extruder very hot(the temperture of the old and new filament) and extrude the old/new filament.
