cooling fan settings petg

I am using petg and I have been reading, which gets me in trouble, that no cooling fan is needed for that filament. All the fan settings are at a default value in slicer 2.3.0 because I do not know how to use them. I have had a few instances where my print had a separation mid print. I now think that maybe there was to much cooling and that's why the separation occurred. So how do I change the cooling fan settings or turn it off completely. I have looked at "cooling threshold" & "fan settings" but I don't know what to do with them. The picture shows what the default settings are which I have been using. Guidance is appreciated.

I've tried it without the cooling fan back when mine was flaky and generating errors and aborts.  The prints were obviously poorer with PETg and no cooling fan.  I could get away with it on some PLA prints, however.

No cooling fan gives you best layer bonding but least good-looking print.  The default settings I think are meant to work for most people.  If you need strength along the layer lines, less fan.

For more interlayer bonding, up the temp instead of ditching the fan.  I use the prusament PETG for most petg because it runs at 250c where generic runs at 230/240.

I print petg most of all.  Every day.  Sometimes all day.  Lures waiting to be born.
