Change hollow tube to solid tube
Hi,
I am trying to print a model part with a rectangular tube. The original part is 25x25 with 3 mm wall thickness, printed in 1:5 the wall thickness is only a few layers. So in the end the (hollow) tube is quite fragile.
So for next printout I would like to turn the hollow tube into a solid rectangular beam. Short of redrawing the whole thing, how can I do that?
Thanks
Elwood

@elwood
In Prusaslicer you can make your own rectangular piece
Start with an empty bed
Right-click -> Add Shape -> Box
With the part created selected you can change size of box to the size you want
Prusa i3 MK3S+ FW 3.11.0 (kit dec -20), PrusaSlicer 2.6.1+win64, Fusion 360, Windows 10
RE: Change hollow tube to solid tube
Hi Ringarn67,
thanks for the info. Yes, I know, I’ve used it - and it’s counterpart negative part - quite a few times, but not this time. I should have mentioned that it‘s a more complicated form, not just a single bar. Building the shape with several boxes would work, but might be quite a task. Imagine a frame of some sorts, like a bike or motorcycle frame.
Thanks
Elwood

Just my opinion, if you don't agree just ignore it. You're using a screwdriver to bang in nails, it works but ..... Stuff like you're trying to do really is better done in CAD.
