Blobs of plastin in prints

My printer gets about 1/2 way through a print then a large blob of plastic appears. i don't know where it comes from. Any ideas how to solve this issue?

Hi Andrew,
it's possible that your nozzle is loose this could allow plastic to leak out through the screw threads,

it's possible that you are over extruding & the nozzle is picking up plastic off the top layer

it.s possible that you had a failure earlier and didn't clean all of the waste off the nozzle/heat block

and it's possible that it's something else entirely!
