I've printed features that small with MK3 default settings. There may be some lumpiness but it should be functional.

Best if you print it so that the teeth are lying on the bed (no supports or unsupported overhangs) — so if the orange shaft/sleeve to the right is supposed to be printed then it should be a separate part. Or maybe the sleeve could be part of the chain sprocket and the interrupter wheel would slide on afterward.

You may have to clean up the indentations in the sprocket since they have steep overhangs.

Thanks kpreid. You've given me hope for a successful print. I don't get my MK3 until July so I'll have to wait and see for sure. As for that shaft... I should have made it a different color since it is not what I'll be printing. It is the metal shaft coming out of the gearbox. The fingers will be laying on the bed, first layers to print.

It would be nice if someone or some company put together a set of examples showing the design and then the final print, concentrating on the difficult things that can be printed. I've seen a few scattered here & there but it would be nice to see a thread called "How to print the hard stuff".

Hi Wingsy,

I would put a ring around the tips of the fingers to give them more support if I was doing what you are attempting to do.
