any way to calibrate the hotend temp in the firmware?

so I think a majority part of my mk3 issues is the hot end not being as hot as it thinks. any way to up the temp offset? I barrowed a good temp gun from my work, and the Prusa is low.

go go wanhao power. it might not print pretty, but I can trust it... just no more printing petG so it looks like glass....fun but trashes hotends

so it seems after I got the old wanhao going the Prusa started behaving. the best looking support print I have ever gotten on the thing. just by offsetting my heat by about 15 degrees. I will keep the other printer running if that's what it takes to have the prusa behave

I have a Prusa,therefore I research.

well no luck on finding temp calibration offsets 🙁 one would think you would have to have it. but phear not 😀 as long as my old (2 month old) wanhao is running..my prusa mk3 seems to behave. now if only I can figure out the blobbing with multi color prints. I would be in business the silver pla (not the one that comes with the kit) and the "gold happens) would look cool together.

I would tend to believe the thermistor over an IR thermometer. IR thermometers are only accurate when they are calibrated to the emissivity of the material you're trying to read and they don't tend to work all that well on shiny surfaces.

well I use the temp gun to calibrate thermistors very often. seems to work just fine for setting offsets.

so it seems if I run the instock temp calibration it stops at 2/6 maybe I will reset everything and try again. but for now "preheating seems to help"
