Thanks for the help everyone! I think I need to tighten my belts? I was trying to calibrate the first layer, going super slow and forgot what live-Z adjustment I made. So, I left it where it was and noticed inconsistent waves in my print. I did about 4 other test prints of just the first layer leaving things EXACTLY the same settings and I came out with a different wave pattern. I believe I need to tighten my belts to be more consistent? Currently, my belt status is X = 281 and Y = 286; above the +_ 40 from 240.

Is this the contributing factor or am I barking up the wrong tree? I have already done several Z calibrations just to rule that out as well. I assumed this was actually my problem.

Check to make sure your belts are tightened within spec, but if so, I'd back off on your Z adjustment (less negative) and possibly a bit on the extrusion. PETG seems to like less squishing than PLA, so you may need to back it out beyond what you do for PLA.

With the extrusion, are you saying whatever I have specified, decrease the number? For example, if extrusion is set to 0.85, lower it to 0.80 or 0.75? I think that's correct? Higher number of extrusion = more filament pushed or extruded?

You can try dropping the extrusion multiplier slightly, see if that helps. If you've ruled out Live-Z, the next thing that comes to mind is overextrusion.

Yes. It's an extrusion multiplier, so that number is multiplied against the flow rate. Numbers less than 1 will reduce, greater than 1 will increase. If you're at 1.00 now, I'd go with 0.95.

Yes, I have it set for 0.85, but will reduce just slightly and go from there. I think I have Live Z adjusted just right, it's just at the end of the final strokes for the first layer that I have issues.

Hello 🙂

I just assembled my MK3s last week and after a few successful PLA prints I have started printing with Sunlu black PETG to build the V2 Enclosure described on the Prusa blog. Confusingly, the temperature given on the packaging is 200-220, which, after reading around on the forums, I assume to be incorrect. I changed a few settings and it's mostly printing okay now, but if someone - like Martin? 🙂 - could provide their settings for PrucerSlicer 2 that would be a big help... I'm a bit scared of printing >2 kilos making prints that look okay but somehow turn out to be brittle or of bad quality in some other way.

So far I changed the retraction speed to 45, the retraction length to 1.5, temperature to 240 (first layer)/ 235 (other layers), bed to 90 (first layer)/ 95 (other layers). I based it on the "generic PET" setting.

Any tipps will be greatly appreciated!

Maybe it is just me - but I believe the temperature specifications on my reels. Not all PETG has to be printed 240 and above.

I do tend to print at the upper limit of the reel specified temperature. I would be printing at 220 on the reel you mention.

I'll give it another try with 220, maybe it was the other changes I made that resulted in the improvements I saw. Got the higher temperature from other peoples' posts about Sunlu PETG... main issue now is first layer adhesion at some edges. Will post some pics when I'm at my laptop, not sure how to attach them using my Android phone.
