Analysis of first layer surface lines and gaps
I am printing parts where the bed-side surface quality is visually important.
By chance I have previously sometimes achieved a perfectly smooth surface with no lines or gaps, but I am struggling to achieve it consistently.
I use the smooth sheet, with the PEI surface in very good condition.
I believe I have:
- Perfect adhesion (always cleaning the bed with dish soap and hot water)
- Close to perfect bed levelling, using the nylock mod and mesh bed levelling process in Octoprint
- Dry PLA (New reel, and by now stored for more than 2 weeks in airtight box w 800g silica-gel and constant humidity below 20%)
- Optimized the live-Z to the best of my knowledge and advice picked up in this forum
- Slow first-layer speed of 20mm/sec
Still, I get these patterns in the first layer and hope to get some suggestions as to which parameters to tweek.
Attached photo of patterns (bed-side view): As you will see, in some smaller areas close to perfect, but not consistently
I also attach the .3mf project file
Grateful for any advice
Ole
