Z crash after flipping spring steel sheet

I bumped the super pinda on my MK3S+ after a print and the next print attempt put a nice groove in the stock build plate so I bought this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0C9MGCG19

I put the new one on (powder coat side up) and recalibrated and all was well until I decided to try the other side.  I flipped the sheet to the textured PET side and tried a print and the print head is now touching the sheet and crashing on initial cal.  Am I doing something wrong?  Do I need to recalibrate from the start when flipping this sheet, or is it something else?  And if I need to recalibrate for each sheet are the sheet cals storable so i don't have to recal every time i change sheets?  Thanks.

The 2 different coating have different thicknesses.  The PINDA is detecting the steel of the sheet.  The calibration for z is to take the difference between the actual print surface and the steel detection point into account.

You need to calibrate for the different sides separately and store those as 2 different values.  Just as if you had 2 different sheets, as that in effect is what you have.

If you are using a newer firmware then there are several 'slots' to store different values for sheets.  If not just write it on the sheet edge with a marker.

Thanks, that makes sense.  I am running the latest firmware so I'll look for the "slots" to save and then recal the 2nd side.

Neophyl, Thanks that did it. It also gave me a better understanding of the relationship between the sensor and the spring steel plate.
