z-axis problem. enforcing calibration

To setup the situation, I had wire fatigue AGAIN in the extruder, prinda, etc wire bundle. This time the extruder motor. Replaced the motor, and now the mk3 with firmware 3.9.2 will not complete calibration or bed leveling. In 3x3 bed notation, it fails at point 7. In 7x7, fails at point 45.
It is trying to level, gives "z-axis problem, enforcing calibration." It moves the carriage to the top, both ends hit the top at the same point, it tries to read the bed, errors, calibrates, repeat.

I've taken apart the entire carriage, lubed the lead screws with machine oil, still keeps happening. Any ideas what I can try?

Any tips I can try to get the printer to pass the calibrations?

Go back to 3x3 - does it pass?

Examine both sides of the print sheet in that area, and the heat bed - any anomalies?

Doesn't matter if it is 3x3 or in 7x7 mode. Same situation. I have tried it without and with the print sheet in place.

I can maybe try it with the bed rotated 180. See if the issue follows the corner. Hopefully the wires will reach.

OK, try a factory reset and recalibrate.  It seems to think that area has moved...

"OK, try a factory reset and recalibrate. It seems to think that area has moved."

That's the problem. I already did a factory reset and it will not calibrate at all.

Can't install the bed in an alternate orientation, cause if it can't sense bed temp, can't even do a calibration. Guess I'm just randomly buying parts until it gets fixed. I think it is the pinda having wire fatigue. Everything else in that bundle has at least once. Would be nice to actually confirm it.
