Z-axis not working

I just got back from traveling for a couple of weeks. And upon starting up my MK3, I immediately noticed the Z-axis isn't working. There were zero issues when I last used it.

I checked the connections on the Einsy Rambo board. They're fine.

Neither motor is making any sound.

I disconnected both Z motors and tested them on the Y axis - and they both work.

I also plugged in a brand new Z stepper from another build and it's not working either.

The PINDA probe goes from 0 to 1 when I put a piece of metal below it. The state currently reads 0.

Any ideas?

Seems you've identified a blown Einsy board.

Tim, everything works on the board except the Z-axis. Would this still indicate it's a bad board?

Best contact Support. They will step you through it.

Click the EShop button, log in, and a Chat button should be in the lower right.

Both Z motors share the same driver, so if the Einsy driver is blown, both steppers will stop.

On my Reprap Rambo, the drivers were individually replaceable. No idea on the Einsy.

Eric - hard to know via remote sensing, but I'd guess the Z driver is toast.  Could be related components, the connector or the pin solder, but whatever it is unless you are handy with desoldering and electronic repair, a new Einsy is in your future.

As Robert suggests, if there is a chance the printer is still under warranty, contact Prusa.
