Z-Axis Crashing into Bed after Adjustments
I was repairing some issues with my heatbed caused by a faulty connecting wire, and when I went to recalibrate the Z axis, it crashed into the print bed. However, it only crashed on the fourth detection point (looking from the front, it's on the center right). I tested the PINDA probe with my allen wrenches and it worked just fine. How can I resolve this? Please let me know if you need any more information.
Something is stuck to the bottom of your bed
Couple of thoughts. First, your new Z and old Z are way different - so something changed drastically when you re-installed the print bed. Most likely this has to do with how you tightened the screws that hold the "do not print on this surface" heat bed assembly to the heat bed carriage. Another thing that is common is there is something under your magnetic plate - a bit of flotsam, left over filament, hair - could be anything.
I think you'll need to re-do the whole pinda calibration though - all three steps - as it sounds like you got the heat bed at a whole new level than it was before your started your repairs.

I did not remove the heatbed from the Y carriage at any point during my repairs, nor did I readjust the height of the PINDA probe. When I was running the Z calibration, I was not using a magnetic plate (should I have been?).

If you remember from your initial assembly - there were three stages to calibrating Z. The second of these steps involved using the control panel, a piece of paper, and at stages, no magnetic sheet, and then later, installing the magnetic sheet and proceeding to live Z calibration stage.
The answer to your question depends on which stage of Z calibration are you making your context?
From the sound of it, your pinda height got changed. Perhaps a bump of an elbow or a back of hand at some point. Make sure the screw that holds it post-adjustment is nice and snug (but don't break it by over-tightening)
