Y axis not calibrating properly.
I have a month or so old MKS3. Recently it stopped printing complaining of a bad y belt tension. My unit has the adjustable belt. I went through the online instructions and found that no matter how I adjusted it I kept get readings where the last tension was between 255 and 279. And yet if failed my calibration every time.
What should I try next?
RE: Y axis not calibrating properly.
Funny, the exact same thing has happened to me as well. I am wondering if it is a bug with the newest firmware update. My printer was running fine before the update. I am going to try to flash it again with the older firmware and see if that fixes it.
RE: Y axis not calibrating properly.
download and print the belt tension tool from Prusa. It's a PETG only print. The #'s from the sensors can be misleading.
The belt should thrum when you pluck it. It should make a low tone. If it is too tight, calibration will complain that it can't get the full length of the travel.
Do a rough adjustment so you can print the belt gauge, and then use that.

Yeah... the firmware didn't help.
