Y-Axis length error and inconsistent resistance

Just confirming my suspicions here.

Printer kit bought in December, running virtually 24/7 since then, suddenly encountering y Axis banging.

Did a factory reset to be sure and it's failing the self test on the Y Axis length.

Just checking it now and moving the Y Axis manually and the resistance is inconsistent, sort of pulsing back and forth along its length.

99% sure this is a bad Y Axis motor, correct?

More likely to be bad bearings that either need lubricating again or new ones if they are too far gone. It’s very rare for the motors to go bad but very common for the bearings to go.

Support suggested lubrication which I just tried.  Still throws the axis length error.

No way bearings should die in the months.

Huge thanks to Jakub on the support line.  Found some filament wreaked around the pulley on the Y motor, completely hidden by the belt.
